Not every week has a headline unicorn. Some weeks, the signal is in the small rounds — the ₹4 crore bets and the ₹7 crore seeds — where investors are making long-duration conviction calls on problems that don’t yet have obvious analogues. This week had four of those.
A cybersecurity platform consolidating enterprise identity and AI governance. An NBFC quietly reaching ₹722 crore AUM serving nano-enterprise borrowers. An answer engine optimization startup born eight months ago. And an AI autism screening tool deployed in 20 government PHCs in Rajasthan. Here’s what each one is actually building.
Seeds Fincap Raises ₹100 Crore Series B to Hit ₹1,000 Crore AUM by FY27
Fintech · NBFC · Series B · Gurugram
The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation led this ₹100 crore (~$10.4M) round in Seeds Fincap, joined by Z47, Lok Capital, Norinchukin Capital, and Alteria Capital. Seeds is a non-banking financial company offering loans between ₹50,000 and ₹10 lakh to nano enterprises and MSME borrowers who are systematically excluded from bank credit — using cash flow-based underwriting rather than collateral or credit bureau scores.
The numbers behind the round are the story. Founded in 2021 by Subhash Chandra Acharya, Avishek Sarkar, and Sumeet Dhall, Seeds reported ₹620 crore in FY26 disbursements, reached ₹722 crore AUM by August 2026 across 164 branches and 70,000+ active members — and was profitable in both FY25 and FY26. The Series B capital goes toward new geographies, branch expansion, and pushing AUM to ₹1,000 crore by March 2027.
Why This Deal Matters
The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation’s presence here is telling — this is impact capital with rigorous return expectations, not charity. Seeds sits at the intersection of two structural gaps: the credit invisibility of nano enterprises (tea stalls, repair shops, small traders) and the inability of traditional NBFCs to serve them profitably. Cash flow-based underwriting at ₹50K ticket sizes, across 164 branches, with FY26 profitability already in place — that’s a real operating model, not a pilot.
Zaperon Raises ₹7 Crore Seed to Unify Enterprise Identity, Data Security, and AI Governance
Cybersecurity · Enterprise SaaS · Seed · Delhi
Inflection Point Ventures (IPV) led a ₹7 crore seed round in Zaperon, a Delhi-based enterprise cybersecurity platform founded in 2021 by Vineet Gupta and Sachin Aggarwal. Zaperon consolidates what has historically been three separate enterprise security categories — identity security, data security, and AI governance — into a single console. The pitch: enterprises managing AI workloads now need to govern not just who can access what, but what AI agents can do with sensitive data.
The company already has enterprise clients across BFSI, healthcare, manufacturing, technology, and government sectors in India and the US. Funds go toward advancing product capabilities, launching enterprise-grade AI security frameworks, and deepening the India-US presence.
The Market Behind the Round
Identity and data security is a $16 billion global market today, projected to reach $35 billion by 2030. The AI governance layer is the new frontier: as enterprises deploy AI agents that can read documents, query databases, and trigger workflows, the attack surface expands in ways that existing CASB and IAM tools weren’t built to handle. Zaperon is early in a category that will matter enormously in two to three years.
Aignosis Raises ₹4 Crore Seed to Scale AI Autism Screening Across India’s PHCs and Schools
Healthtech · AI Diagnostics · Seed · Jaipur
Antler led a ₹4 crore seed round in Aignosis, joined by Nikhil Kamath, Varun Dua, IIMA Ventures, Rajneesh Bhandari, and Amit Jain — some of whom participated in a prior 2024 round. Aignosis was founded by Raksheet Jain and Divyansh Mangal in Jaipur and builds an AI-powered screening platform for autism and developmental disorders in children aged 16 months to 9 years. The system uses computer vision to assess behavioral signals — gaze patterns, facial expression responses — to flag developmental concerns early.
Traction is concrete: 8,000+ screenings completed, deployment across 20+ government Primary Health Centers in Rajasthan, a partnership with Mankind Pharma, and a rollout across ~125 Apollo Shines schools. The company holds Class B CDSCO certification and was part of Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First 2025. Target: 1 lakh screenings by end of FY27. Expansion underway into Punjab, NCR, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
Why Computer Vision for Autism Screening
India has a severe shortage of developmental pediatricians and child psychologists — access is heavily urban and private. The average age of autism diagnosis in India is 4–6 years; early intervention (before age 3) dramatically improves outcomes. Aignosis’ model brings screening to PHCs and schools where a specialist would never reach, using a tablet-based tool that doesn’t require a clinician to administer. At 8,000 screenings across Rajasthan’s government health centers, they’re already operating at a scale most healthtech startups only describe in pitch decks.
Unveilr AI Raises Pre-Seed from AJVC at ₹16.7 Crore Valuation to Optimize Brands for AI Search
AI · SEO/AEO · Pre-Seed · Mumbai
AJVC — Aviral Bhatnagar’s pre-seed fund — backed Unveilr AI at a ₹16.7 crore valuation in an undisclosed pre-seed round. Founded in February 2026 by Sanditya Srivastava, Unveilr helps B2B and consumer brands get discovered not just on Google, but across AI platforms: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude. The category is called Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) — the emerging cousin of SEO for a world where people increasingly get answers from AI instead of clicking through search results.
The case studies are notable for a company that’s eight months old: a legal services platform saw 4.7x growth in AI-sourced traffic, 5x more leads, and 80% more ChatGPT citations. A D2C brand now attributes 27% of total revenue to organic search. Unveilr tracks brand visibility across search and AI platforms in one dashboard and deploys AI agents to improve that visibility. Funds go toward engineering, AI agent development, and customer expansion across India, UAE, and the US.
The Category Bet
SEO is 25 years old and still worth billions in annual spend. AEO is the 2026 version of the same problem: brands need to be the answer AI gives, not just the link users click. The window to establish tooling here is narrow — in 18 months, every major SEO platform will have an AEO module. Unveilr is betting it can own the category before that happens. AJVC backing at pre-seed stage, at ₹16.7 crore valuation, is a small bet on a potentially large timing call.
Editor’s Notes

Seeds Fincap’s profitability at scale is the real signal. Most fintech NBFCs serving underserved segments are still burning capital at ₹700 crore AUM. Seeds being profitable at that level — with 164 branches, ₹50K average ticket sizes, and a borrower base of 70,000 — tells you the unit economics work. The ₹1,000 crore AUM target by March 2027 isn’t aspiration; it’s a six-month push from a base they’ve already demonstrated.

Zaperon is building for the AI agent era of enterprise security. The traditional IAM (Identity and Access Management) market addressed human users accessing systems. The emerging problem is AI agents — often with broad permissions — operating autonomously inside enterprise environments. An AI agent that can read your Salesforce, your S3 buckets, and your HR system is a massive security surface that most enterprise stacks aren’t governed for yet. Zaperon’s consolidation play across identity, data, and AI governance is well-timed even if it’s early.

Aignosis is doing something rare: AI health impact at PHC level. Deploying in government Primary Health Centers in Rajasthan is not a press release claim — it requires state government partnerships, clinical validation, regulatory clearance (they have CDSCO Class B), and a tool simple enough for a non-specialist to use. Most healthtech companies aim at private hospitals in metros. Aignosis is operating where the gap is actually largest, with 8,000 screenings as proof that the product works in those conditions.

Unveilr’s eight-month arc is worth watching. Founded February 2026, pre-seed in October 2026 — that’s a tight founding-to-funding timeline that suggests the early customer results were compelling enough to skip the bootstrapped phase. AEO as a category is real but young; the risk is that incumbents absorb it before Unveilr can build durable product differentiation. The next 12 months — whether they can sign 50+ paying customers before the SEMrush and Ahref of the world ship an AEO tab — will determine whether this is a company or a feature.
